In Mineral Wells, TX, The Baker Hotel was once a tourist destination for those well to do monkeys wanting to exploit the natural mineral springs (or some such thing) nearby. Blah, blah, blah… celebrities, blah blah blah… luxury, so on and so forth.
Look, the history of this building association with the “elite” isn’t something I’m interested in. Celebrity association is horse shit in my mind, what does interest me is it’s architecture and how beautifully it decays. Despite the tacked on facade of economic desperation this building is grand and should be restored… however all the evidence points to it’s eventual ruin and waste.
